On May 26th, Sommelier and General Manager Joseph Bay will lead an educational class exploring the journey through Burgundian Varietals which are grown in the rich terroir of Oregon's Wine Country. This guided tasting will explore Willamette Valley wines which are a reflection of place - cool climate, rich soils and a dedication to balance. Willamette Valley offers wines that are refined, expressive and quietly powerful. This tasting will be paired perfectly with a curated charcuterie selection. 
About Your Host: Joseph Bay+

Joseph Bay is the General Manager of Somm Wine Bar Nexton. He is a College of Charleston graduate with over 14 years in the food and beverage industry. Over the course of his career, he has developed a reputation for thoughtful service, deep product knowledge and an ability to connect with guests in a way that feels both genuine and engaging.

As a Certified Sommelier with WSET Levels 1 and 2 (with Merit), and a semi-finalist for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Best Sommelier Under 30 USA, Joe's approach to wine is grounded in both technical precision and approachability. He has a natural ability to break down complex concepts while still honoring the structure, place and a story behind each bottle.
